GSA is committed to sustainability on campus. We are an active part of the University's sustainability developments and committees, and co-host events like Ride2Uni.

GSA and sustainability

Sustainability is one of the world’s more urgent challenges. GSA is committed to sustainability, and Graduate Students can play an important part in shaping responses and solving problems.

We have our own targets for sustainable and ethical procurement, and we believe that the University of Melbourne has a responsibility to be a leader in sustainability too. We’re working with Sustainable Campus to develop the University’s 5-year Sustainability Plan.

Sustainability Executive

GSA has successfully lobbied the University to create a student representative position on the Sustainability Executive. GSA Councillor Bren Carruthers currently holds that representative position.

The University's Sustainability Plan

The University is calling for feedback on its Sustainability Plan right now. Because GSA is committed to proving that research is a crucial part of creating a sustainable world, we're now leading the discussion about the role of research in sustainability.

Join other graduate students and give us your feedback about research in sustainability.
