Class sizes: they’re just too big!

Posted in: Graduate Issues & Campaigns, Coursework Education Officer, Coursework Students, News

The message coming back from Masters coursework students at this University is that class sizes of more than 50 students are just too big for a seminar. Do you agree? Come and discuss strategies for reducing our class sizes and increasing the quality of education at this GSA public consultation forum around the topic, ‘Class sizes: they’re just too big!’

Date: Monday 27 April
Time: 5:30 for a 6 pm start
Venue: Gryphon Gallery, Graduate Centre (1888 Building)

Coursework students to campaign

Posted in: Coursework Students

GSA is starting up a campaign about class sizes. In many courses we found large classes and insufficient readers. Now we need you to get involved.

Firstly, we are collecting all the stories about student experiences and then asking questions. So if you have your own story please email it to me at coursework@gsa.unimelb.edu.au and we will include it in a report.

On Monday 27 April we are holding a special forum to discuss our concerns and the campaign to reduce the class sizes. It will be at 6pm in the Gryphon Gallery, 1888 Building, The Graduate Centre. Staff will be invited to that forum,  please come along and make it a success.
