What is the GPPC?

The GPPC is a computer lab specifically equipped for the needs of Graduate students. The hardware and software packages have been assembled with the production of theses, essays and assignments in mind. Word processing, text and photo scanning, image manipulation, desk top publishing, multimedia & web page authoring are all supported. 24 hour black & white printing is available in the GPPC.

The GPPC has the following equipment available for Graduate Student use:

  • 2 Transparency / Slide Scanners
  • 1 G5 Macintosh workstation
  • 5 DualCore 1.86ghz workstations
  • 2 Celeron 2.45 ghz workstations
  • 2 A4 Flatbed Desktop Scanners

Software available and supported includes the latest versions of:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) – Mac / PC
  • Adobe Photoshop & Image Ready – Mac
  • Adobe Illustrator – Mac
  • Microsoft Publisher – PC
  • Endnote X– Mac / PC
Also available are
  • Change to Filezila for FTP transfers
  • PDFwriter for creating PDF files & Adobe reader for viewing & printer
  • Stuffit for file compression
