The Graduate CentreThe Graduate Centre is a building and precinct in Parkville for postgraduate students at the University of Melbourne. It is co-administered by the UMPA and the Melbounre School of Graduate Research.

Accessing the Graduate Centre

Students who access the Graduate Centre must adhere to the building's safety regulations and rules. These documents are provided at the links below. By using your postgraduate student card for access to the Graduate Centre you are declaring that you have read and understood both documents.

Access

All University of Melbourne postgraduate students can access the Graduate Centre 24 hours a day using their student ID card. If your student ID card is lost or stolen you must notify Student Administration, the Baillieu library, or campus security immediately. Campus Security are located at 213 Grattan Street, Parkville, and can be contacted on 8344 4674. If your student ID card does not give you access you need to contact Access Control at 215 Grattan Street, Parkville, during business hours. If the situation is outside of business hours and urgent you can contact University Security on 8344 4674.

Opening hours

The Graduate Centre is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Your postgraduate student ID card gives you access outside of these times. Many facilities in the building are available 24 hours a day, including the Postgraduate Loungeroom, study rooms and computer labs.

  • GSA Reception is open 10.00am-5.00pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-3pm on Fridays.
  • UMPA Publishing Centre is open 9.30am-5.00pm Mondays and 10am-5.00 Tuesday-Friday.
  • The Loft (which includes a student lounge and study spaces) is open 8am - 10pm Monday to Friday.
  • SGS Reception is open 8.45am-5.00pm Monday-Friday, except for Wednesdays 8.45am-3.00pm.
