Your Council

GSA is governed by fifteen graduate students, elected by the graduate student body.

The role of the Council is to represent student interests at University, government and community levels. The Council meets at least eight times per year to discuss matters affecting graduate students and to make decisions about how GSA operates to improve graduate student life.

Office Bearers focus on specific issues or groups, such as international students, women, LGBTIQ students and students with families.

Elections

Elections are held annually. Any currently enrolled graduate student at the University of Melbourne may vote and stand in the GSA Council elections. This includes all students enrolled in a graduate or postgraduate certificate, graduate or postgraduate diploma, master’s degree (coursework and research), PhD and other doctoral students.
