Rohani is an international PhD candidate in Math Education. Her first degree was attained in a desert land of Tucson, Arizona while the M.Ed. was deliberately done in a snowy land of Ottawa, Canada. Having had enough North American exposures, she moved down to the southern hemisphere. She thought, “What better place can I go to for my PhD?”… so here she is, taking up a post as a GSA Councillor. In addition to being an international student, she is also a mother of four and is happily married to a very supportive husband. They moved together from Malaysia and now live in a south east suburb of Melbourne. Rohani’s work experience with people from diverse cultural backgrounds helped her develop lenses for international perspectives and a global outlook. Should any of you feel connected to her or wish to share your views and throw in suggestions to make our learning experience rich and meaningful in a supportive environment, feel free to contact her at rmohamad@pgrad.unimelb.edu.au.

She is committed to ensure that the voices of international blend of young and mature graduates are heard and get responded to.
